Military Outreach began during WWII, near military installations around the country. In 1968 the Presbytery of San Diego began administering the program locally. In November 2005, the Presbytery divided the program into two divisions to cover the vast need in San Diego County. Military Outreach Ministry Camp Pendleton and SD MOM are the only two remaining of the original program started during WWII.

There are nearly 300,000 military personnel and family members in San Diego County.  These families have unique needs because of the county's high-priced economy and the social isolation that is common when stationed away from home. Military Outreach exists to help meet some of those needs.

Outreach
We provide food, children's items, furniture, and other household goods.  We also care for emotional and spiritual needs through home visits to families in crisis, lending a compassionate ear, providing referral services, holding Bible studies, and organizing social activities.  All of our services are free of charge, including babysitting at scheduled events.
